Hi there! Welcome, welcome. I’m Jackie, Editor-in-Chief, of The Modern Career Woman.
I have motivated, inspired and encouraged many women to pursue their passion and purpose. In every professional role I’ve held, I have naturally served as a beacon of light to entrepreneurs. More recently at CookIt Media, my daily conversations are usually centered around passionately reminding someone that they have what it takes; they can live the dream they envision. They harness all the tools to achieve success.
With optimism, manifestation, wellness, determination, support, creativity and balance, these women are very capable of pushing themselves over obstacles and ‘the impossible’ to live the life they imagined and simply want for themselves.
However, I also know that it’s not that easy.
Pursuing your passion, purpose, and dreams requires hard consistent work, sacrifice, tackling challenges, and constantly battling and overcoming self-doubt.
I am fully aware of this because I, too, struggle with this myself. I’ve been quite terrible at simply beginning— taking that dive in and swimming towards my dreams. I’ve also admittedly been bad at balancing both a career and personal life, which got me to this moment in my life.
THE MODERN CAREER WOMAN
A ‘career woman’ has been seen as someone who was solely focused on that—their careers, nothing else but that. And yes, still today, there are women who are very dedicated to reaching professional goals and advancement, allocating more energy towards their career than their personal life.
However, most women are now looking to successfully balance both.
These modern career women are fully invested in their careers, however, they are also fully invested and present in being a Mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and a side hustler.
What if we, as women, could pursue both our dreams —professionally and personally— successfully, in balance?
Well, I believe we could.
And, now, this is my mission: To build a platform to not only educate and inspire my community, but to hold myself accountable, to continue on the path of professional and personal self-discovery, growth, fulfillment, passion, and purpose without sacrificing wellness, faith, people (family + friends) and dreams.
The Modern Career Woman is a destination that will serve as a valuable resource for women who bring an entrepreneurial perspective to their work. They might own their own business, and they might be climbing the corporate ladder. They may be balancing a family with a business goal they pursue after the kids are in bed.
Women are increasingly interested in charting their own career course. They want to find a job that ticks all the boxes: a mission they believe in; management and co-workers who support their growth; fair and competitive compensation; a schedule that enables them to pursue their own passions and be present in the lives of their loved ones.
Now more than ever, women struggle to find balance in their lives. Between a demanding job, a family, and side hustles, making time for herself to reach their goals is an everyday challenge.
Often fueled by ambition, these women find themselves needing inspiration, tools, and encouragement to help them achieve their goals. Learning is a priority and the key to getting the know-how they need.
Seeking self-knowledge, strength, and a sense of purpose, each is focused on finding a career that fulfills her, a home life that sustains her—and the perfect balance between the two.
Tips, insight, storytelling, and inspiration form the foundation of the content throughout The Modern Career Woman.
